I'm so frustrated with my dolls at the moment. Remember the trouble I had getting Tallulah on the obitsu SBH? Well, once it was finally on, it looked great, but the top half of the torso kept coming out all the time and she was impossible to pose, so I decided to try and glue the peg in the hole in the hope it'd stay in place. Unfortunately glue went all over her insides and her soft torso became a very odd shape and her legs wouldn't open at all >.< I was so disheartened about this that I couldn't face doing another body swap right away.
Yesterday I won a really cute yellow Sindy moped on ebay for her which motivated me to try again with her, so I put her on a spare type 3 body I had. Once again I managed to get glue everywhere (this time when glueing her wig back on). She's got a little shiny patch on her chin which I suppose can be sanded (if I can trust myself) and her body didn't bend for a while but I forced it and snapped the glue so now her torso is fine. I thought she was okay after that, so today I decided to do a little photoshoot of her and her moped. First of all I managed to break the new tripod I have for the camera so I decided to go on without it. But then when I went to pose her, I realised her head no longer moved round because glue had got into the neck. I tried to gently force it to move round and break the glue seal, but her neck just snapped >.<
Luckily her head is fine so I haven't done any serious damage, but I can't just keep buying new bodies all the time. It's really frustrating me because I love my dolls and I try so hard to be careful with them. I've been really despairing about my clumsiness recently and I think actually I might have dyspraxia. Even when I try my hardest, I am so careless and clumsy and distracted. It makes me wonder what the point of me is of me even buying dolls if I'm just going to break them. My boyfriend is being really nice about it and saying if I explain to him how to do it, he'll change the bodies and things for me. I guess that's the only option I've got besides selling them all and giving up, but I'm sad that I can't be trusted with them myself.

I experimented with my camera tonight and lowered the ISO and it made so much difference! The pictures could still be a little bit sharper, but they look so much better than before. The colour especially looks really good. I liked the pictures so much that I actually uploaded 25 to my flickr XD That never happens! I usually take a million and only really like about five.
I'm only posting my favourites here, but if you want to see the rest you can check my flickr.

( four pullips and a fishtank! )
We do actually have a goldfish, it's just so speedy that it didn't show up in any of the photos XD
I love Calliope's new outfit, I originally bought it for my Eternia but then I found it actually suited Callie perfectly. That along with the fact her lazy body makes her look very sensual, I think.

( more )LILY ACTUALLY HAS HAIR! Haha, I'd got used to seeing her bald! I took her stock wig off straight away to sell, and then it was a while before her new wig arrived. Doesn't she look gorgeous? It's actually a Holly wig that I've taken out of the bun. I love it because it's a really golden brown and it really suits her warm colouring. Her little friend is called Dandelion and was made by the talented Astrokitten, don't they look cute together? I also sorted out Tallulah's Obitsu. (It was originally for Calliope, who is a particularly flimsy type 2, but her screws are stripped and I think I'd rather put her on a SB2 anyway.) I first attempted to do this last week, and accidentally chipped out a bit of her neckhole >.< She seems to be okay even with that bit missing though and today I finally finished sorting her out. I'm not sure about the SBH though, the top bust part came out of the body on the first day I got it and maybe I didn't put it back in right or something but it's always coming out now. Is anyone else having that problem? :/ It's really hard to pose her without it popping out now. I managed not to superglue my hands together, but I did accidentally get some down my finger and it dried before I could get it off. Never mind, I'm sure it'll wear off eventually! As for my camera problems, I found out that I can actually adjust the ISO which should make my photos less blurry in future. I still haven't time to experiment with that though XD

( whining about photography )
I'm sorry for all the angst, it's just so frustrating to have beautiful dollies and yet not be able to show them off :[
I am going to order my sister's first Pullip on Friday! It's fun having somebody talk Pullips with and we'll be able to swap clothes and stuff. I'm buying her favourite, Chill, first, although I've also bought her a really pretty wig for the Nero she is going to save up for. It's this wig -- won't that look gorgeous on a Nero?
I've lent her Lottie for a while as it's going to be a couple of weeks before Chill arrives. I remember when I first ordered Calliope and I only had five days to wait because she was in Sweden, but it felt like forever. I thought I'd die of excitement before she got here.
Calliope has somehow lost a hand >.< So she and Tallulah are sharing three between the two of them. I can't wait til I get her head open and sort out her obitsu.
I opened my Eternia today :D She's so beautiful! She doesn't fit in with my other girls, at all XD My other girls are all beautiful too but in a different way. They are all much more bohemian and laid-back wheras February is really classic and graceful. I have her in Nero's dress at the moment which is too big but I've safety-pinned it at the back and she looks really glamorous. Her hair is a bit tangly though, originally I'd planned to boil it straight but now I'm thinking I might try this instead.

My boyfriend is really bonding with Lottie! It's so cute :D So yesterday, when we went for a picnic in the Peace Pagoda Park in Milton Keynes, I took her along with us. On the way we stopped off at Toys R Us to get her a new dress!

There'd been a thunderstorm in the morning but it had cleared up by this point and the sky was so pretty.
( Lottie in the park! )
Calliope's new body should be arriving this week and then I can do Lottie's introductary picfic :D

Look who's here :D I opened Papin first, and she's adorable. Her hair is so amazingly soft! She's my first type 3 body and I'm not sure yet what I think of it. It's definitely a lot sturdier, but its lack of poseability might annoy me when I try photographing her. I wish Barbie clothes fitted her, but it suits her personality to be more petite than the others so I don't mind too much. Her name is Lottie and her first lot of photos will be a little introductory pic fic in a couple of days, once I've fixed her big sister's (Calliope, of course!) body! (The SBH arrived but I'm having trouble unscrewing her head because my little screwdrivers are useless ones that came out of a Christmas cracker. Going to have to find somebody to lend me some better ones!) I was only going to open them one at a time, but I had to open Zuora so that I could sell her stock and wig in order to pay for her new wig. So she's currently nude and bald and sitting on a different shelf to the others whilst I pretend she's not here, aww. It took me a while to decide what wig to buy her, her stock wig is pretty but a little bit dull. I've been looking at pictures of rewigged Zuora's and there are so many that suit her, she really can pull off any colour. I put Nomado's scalp on her just out of curiosity and it looked gorgeous, I was half tempted to give it to her but it suits Calliope so well that I couldn't really, plus I want a more natural look for my Zuora. It's funny, my other Pullips are really close to their stock styles but my image of her is so different from her stock look. When I look at her beautiful face I don't think about dark gothic stuff, I see a light, peaceful fairy. Anyway, in the end I finally settled on Holly's wig, I love how it looks down and I saw a photo of Zuora in it and the colour really suits her. It's funny introducing my boyfriend -- well, fiance really but it feels very frivolous saying that XD -- to my Pullips. When I first showed him pictures of Pullips, he said they looked freaky. Then I got Calliope and said actually he could see her appeal after all, but that I didn't need anymore. Then when I got Tallulah, he decided he liked her but two was enough. Now he's met Lottie and he loves her more than the other two XD He keeps stroking her lovely hair, aww. He doesn't like my Zuora though, he says she's scary-looking and that she looks really sad. Maybe he'll like her better when she has hair!

Today Panda's glasses arrived for Tallulah, thanks to suiseiseki! And her adorable t-shirt from chloeiscrazy1 had already arrived so Tallie is looking very cool right now.
See?

( more pictures! )And, fittingly, I was voted most like Assa at pullip_rating! I'm expecting Papin, Zuora and Eternia to arrive very soon, possibly tomorrow but more likely Friday. I'm so excited! I shall probably open them one at a time though (starting with Papin), it'd feel too extravagant otherwise. Hopefully the new Obitsu SBH that I bought on the PS forums will be here before the weekend too. Poor Calliope's body is just falling apart. I'm really nervous of opening her head up though, what if I can't get it back together again? XD I'm also a bit worried about her hair, I think it's going to be too heavy for the obitsu and will just make her floppy. I'm hoping it will make a difference if I just cut her braids shorter, I'd really rather not rewig her if I can help it!

Ugh, I love Calliope but her body is so frustrating >.<
I bought her some new feet from someone on PS and they arrived today. I had removed one foot to put her in Barbie boots, and I put that foot back on first and it screwed in perfectly. Then I tried to replace the left one (the one that broke) and her ankle got stuck, ugh. You know how the foot screws into the leg? Well, it just doesn't screw. It's half in and won't come out again. This is what happened before, and I had to force it and that's how it snapped, and it looks like it's going to happen again.
Not only that, but her tummy is driving me crazy. It pops all the time, and I've been trying the tummy pop fix but it just doesn't work on her. I tried it on Tallulah (even though her tummy doesn't pop so much) and it turned out okay first try. And her feet are fine, all of her is fine actually. She's a lot less stiff than Calliope too. I assumed all type 2 bodies would be the same, but seemingly not. Maybe it's because Nomado is older than Assa? :S
So I think I'll have to obitsu her because her current body is just too frustrating. I know she's super pale but I've seen her on white obitsus before and the difference isn't that noticeable. Not sure when I can afford to do it though, because I'm supposed to be saving up for a new camera! >.<
PS not at all related to the rest of my post, but what does "bait" mean? I know it's something to do with customs, but I'm not sure exactly!

These pictures were taken in the park round the corner from my mum's house. I always used to go and play there when I was a child so I have a lot of happy memories there. I'm always going to have another big happy memory there next year because it's where I'm going to get married! :D

I love that last picture XD So cute! So yeah, Tallulah arrived :D Yesterday I got a card through the door saying I had a parcel to pick up... and it was Tallulah! So that other parcel at customs must be something else, the only thing I think it can be is my friend's birthday present, but I wasn't expecting to pay customs on that because it was only $40 :/
Tallulah is everything I was hoping for :D And more, actually, she's really photogenic compared to Calliope, poor Callie. She's also a lot less stiff, and falls apart a lot less easily, which surprised me because I was expecting all type 2 bodies to be the same. Poor Calliope, I feel bad comparing her to Tallulah like that! But I still love her, it'd be boring if all my dolls were the same. And eventually I will find the best way to take and edit photos of her, I'm sure.
Here's some more pictures I took last night:

Arietta's stock arrived today so I decided to put her shoes on Calliope who's been barefoot all this time. But as I was putting them on her ankle snapped and broke :[
I've looked at this tutorial but it requires a drill, which I don't have. I'm going to see if my dad has one. My boyfriend says the lighter method sounds too dangerous, but I don't know. I might just get her an obitsu or volks body or something, I know it'll be hard to get a good match but I could always just pretend she wears a lot of face powder or something :/

Today I got a little card through the door saying that my Assa is waiting for me at the sorting office, and that I need to pay £12.65 (about $26?) in customs fees >.< I'd kinda been expecting that, but I don't have any money right now so it's frustrating. I've got three weeks to pay it though, I'm sure I'll find the money in that time.
So that news put me in a Pullip mood and I decided to knit her a new top to go with her new jeans, in case I get her before her Le Marionette t-shirts arrive. But then what I ended up knitting actually suited Calliope far better XD I just made it up as I went along -- a fitted tube shape with eyelets round the waist so that it could be pulled tighter to give it more shape and stop it slipping down. I originally envisioned ribbon going through the eyelets but then I realised I didn't have anything small enough so I just knit up some i-cord, but it looked a bit plain so I threaded some beads on the cord. Then I tied the back of the cord in a bow but it looked a messy so I threaded some beads on the end and made a drawstring type thing with a sliding bead to keep it closed. It looks kind of silly, like she has a tail or something, haha, but it really suits her.
She looks so good in the top and the jeans that I think I might keep her in it for a while, which means Tallulah (my Assa) will have nothing to wear XD Although I did buy Arietta's stock recently, so I'll probably just put her in that. To make up for Calliope stealing Tallulah's new clothes, I made Tallie a little bracelet just like the one Kyo wears in Fruits Basket! Tallulah is going to be an anime geek :D
Here's some pictures of Calliope modelling the top and the bracelet:

( 4 more )I've got the hang of the focus now, I think. The photos never look sharp enough without the flash though, even after I've sharpened them in Paintshop Pro. When Tallulah arrives I'm going to take the two of them to the park and take some nice outdoor photos. Shana at PullipStyle is going to hold Zuora, Eternia and Papin for me til I get paid in a couple of weeks :D It seems a bit extravagant to get three at once, but shipping is more economical if I get several at once, plus the shipping rates are going up next month so I want to get an order in before then!

Today was a nice sunny day so I decided to take some photos of Calliope outside. Her shiny face is still difficult, but I think the photos came out better than the ones I took indoors the other day. Looking at these I see I need to work out how to focus my camera better, but even after just taking a few pictures of Calliope I feel I understand my camera a lot better. Calliope is living up to her name and being my little muse!
( 5 more! )Tomorrow when I get paid I'm going to order Assa from Magma Heritage. I can't wait for her to arrive, I think she and Calliope will make a pretty pair.
